Chronology of cameras Compagnie Française de Photographie
As highlighted by the advertisement, it has the shape and size of a detective camera, but the lens is located on a large side rather than at one of the two ends.
This lens pivots 120°, allowing it to expose the film arranged in an arc along a curved surface (presumably made of glass).
The advertisement specifies that the film is in the 4 x 5 inches format. At that time, Kodak offered several film references in this format.
Each photo obtained is impressively sized at 27 x 12.5 centimeters on the negative. If you take an A4 sheet and fold it lengthwise, you get something almost the same size. This panoramic postcard is very close to that format. Feel free to click on the card.
